Rocker Switch (Boat-Type Switch)
A Rocker Switch, also known as a boat-type switch, is a common mechanical switch. It operates similarly to a seesaw—when one end of the switch is pressed, the other end lifts, allowing the circuit to be turned on or off.
Structure and Working Principle:
Inside the rocker switch is a spring-loaded mechanism and contact structure.
When you press one end of the switch, it activates the internal contacts to either complete (ON) or break (OFF) the circuit.
The switch is usually labeled with symbols like “I / O” or “ON / OFF” for easy identification of its status.
